This tutorial will discuss public health pest control. After completing this tutorial, you should have an appreciation for the importance and the impacts a successful vector control program have had on this state, describe how Florida’s important insect and arthropod vectors are classified and the characteristics that serve as a basis for those classifications, describe the three general types of transmission that are involved in vector-host relationships, describe the diseases that are vectored by mosquitoes, ticks, and fleas, and identify the common mosquitoes and ticks of Florida.
